Corrections especially welcome — we would rather fix a wrong number than defend it.
We read everything and usually reply within two working days.
What we can help with
- A formula or constant looks wrong. Tell us which calculator and what you believe the correct value is. This is the most useful message you can send us.
- A material rate is out of date in your city. Local rates move faster than our quarterly review. Send us what you are actually paying.
- Your city is missing. We add cities as we can verify local rates and bye-laws.
- FAR or bye-law figures need correcting. These change often and we would rather be told than publish something stale.
What we cannot help with
- Recommending a contractor or supplier. We have no commercial relationships with any, and keeping it that way is the point.
- Reviewing your drawings or approving a design. That needs a licensed architect or structural engineer who can visit the site.
- Settling a dispute with a builder. Our estimates are not admissible as a valuation and are not meant to be.
- Advertising or sponsored placement. We do not sell placement in results or guides.
